Sporting Events

Britain is sports mad, and with it hosting a packed calendar of world-class sporting events throughout the year you are spoilt for choice when visiting Britain. If you're looking for somewhere to base yourself whilst attending these, why not stay in a pub? You can enjoy delicious food and drink along with comfortable bedrooms - what could be better after a long day of sport? Here are a few of our top sporting events to enjoy:

The F1 British Grand Prix

Taking place at Silverstone, the British Grand Prix is the oldest continuously staged F1 race in the world. With a weekend packed full of racing and supporting events, motorsport enthusiasts are guaranteed to be thrilled.

Wimbledon Tennis Championships

One of the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon takes place over two weeks in late June and early July. Grab a bowl of strawberries and cream as you cheer on your favourites players.

The Open Championship

Played at the end of July each year, The Open takes place in one of nine Scottish or English links courses. First played in 1860, The Open is one of the four major golf competitions. With golf courses all over the UK, pubs are the perfect place to base yourself for a golf holiday.

FA Cup Final

The pinnacle of the football season, the FA Cup is the ultimate prize in English football. Nothing compares to the thrill of a knockout competition with the chance to play in the final at Wembley up for grabs.

Henley Royal Regatta

Held every year on the River Thames in Henley-on-Thames, the Royal Regatta takes places over five days on the first weekend in July. Drawing thousands of visitors, spectators are treated to over 200 races in addition to enjoying an array of restaurants, bars and shops near the river banks.
