As lockdown restrictions appear to be easing, we can’t help but count down the days until pubs with beer gardens are finally open!

We have put together a list of some of our favourite pubs with glorious outdoor spaces. Whether you are looking to take the family out for a meal or enjoy a pint of real ale or glass of wine with friends, we have chosen some of our favourites.

The Ebrington Arms – Chipping Camden, Gloucestershire


Nestled in the beautiful village of Ebrington, Gloucestershire, The Ebrington Arms was voted the Best Pub in the South West at the 2019 National Pub & Bar awards. The pub garden is surrounded by Victorian walls and has picturesque views of the surrounding Cotswolds countryside.

Bearslake Inn – Lake Sourton, Devon


Located between the small market towns of Tavistock and Okehampton in Devon, the Bearslake Inn is a traditional thatched pub with a beautiful garden and its own babbling brook. From there, you can see picturesque moors and tors across open farmland. 

The Oystercatcher – Polzeath, Cornwall


For those who love to be by the sea, The Oystercatcher in Cornwall has a wonderful outdoor space with beautiful ocean views. The dog friendly pub with rooms is located close to some of the most stunning surf spots in the county including Rock, Daymer Bay and St Minver. Enjoy local, fresh Cornish produce, served alfresco on the terrace.

The Mill at Gordleton – Hordle, Hampshire


The Mill is located in the hamlet of Gordleton, just minutes from the New Forest and the South Coast. Surrounded by picturesque grounds and gardens, The Mill is the perfect place to relax with family and friends and enjoy delicious homemade food. The terrace overlooks the river, which makes it a peaceful haven on a warm summer’s day. 

Queens Head Hotel – Windermere, Cumbria



Located in the beautiful location of the Troutbeck Valley, the Queen’s Head Hotel is a 17th century Elizabethan inn. The pub is nestled on the side of the fells which overlook the Troutbeck Valley and is just 1.5 miles from the former home of Beatrix Potter. During the warmer months, visitors can enjoy the peaceful surroundings from the terrace.

The Recruiting Sergeant – Horstead, Norfolk



This quintessential award-winning British pub with rooms is situated in the pretty village of Horstead in Norfolk. The lovely country beer garden is the perfect place to enjoy their wonderful fresh and locally sourced produce. For those who fancy exploring the local area, there are some beautiful walks in Horstead and the nearby Norfolk Broads. 

The Maytime Inn – Burford, Oxfordshire



This wonderful pub with rooms is situated in the quaint village of Asthall in the Cotswolds. The award-winning beer garden features an outdoor gin bar and boules pitch as well as picturesque views over the rolling Oxfordshire countryside. The garden is the perfect spot to relax whilst enjoying fabulous food, live music and great company.

Eagle and Child - Ramsbottom, Lancashire


The Eagle and Child is an innovative and eco-friendly pub, which has a glorious beer garden stretching across an acre of land. Known as the ‘edible beer garden’, the outdoor space is home to an array of homegrown fruit, vegetable and herb patches, chickens, a mini orchard, children’s play area and a pizza oven. 

The Sun Inn – Dedham, Essex


Nestled in the picturesque village of Dedham in Essex, is The Sun. This pretty country pub is an ideal spot to relax and unwind with a pint of craft beer and delicious locally sourced East Anglian food. The pretty walled beer garden is overlooked by St Mary’s Church tower and offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. 

The Coach & Horses – Clitheroe, Lancashire





Situated in the middle of Bolton by Bowland in the Ribble Valley, The Coach & Horses is a beautiful Grade 2 listed pub with boutique bedrooms. The traditional coaching inn has a picturesque courtyard surrounded by greenery, making it an ideal spot to relax with friends and family on a warm summer’s day. 

The Pilgrim Inn – Marchwood, Hampshire



The Pilgrim Inn is a wonderful thatched pub with rooms, perched on the edge of the New Forest. The Judge’s Lodging – York, Yorkshire




Set in a spectacular Grade 1 listed building in the centre of York, the Judge’s Lodging is a stunning modern pub with rooms. The outdoor terrace is a beautiful spot that has a contemporary Mediterranean feel to it. 

The Crown – Stoke by Nayland, Colchester




Named the "County Dining Pub of the Year 2020” by the Good Pub Guide, the Crown is a charming inn nestled in the village of Stoke by Nayland. The pub has a garden terrace, which overlooks the rolling meadows of Dedham Vale – a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a meal with the whole family. 

The West Arms – Denbighshire, Wales

 

Situated at the foothills of Berwyn Mountain, The West Arms in Llanarmon is a wonderful 15th century pub with a large beer garden. Visitors can take in the idyllic Welsh countryside whilst enjoying a nice cold beer on a warm summer’s day. 

The Kingslodge Inn – Durham City, Durham



Less than a mile from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral and Castle, The Kingslodge Inn is the perfect place to enjoy alfresco dining or a drink in the garden courtyard and terrace. Whilst the Kingslodge is centrally located, the courtyard is a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
