Why Leicestershire?

Once an important Roman Settlement, Leicestershire is steeped in history and heritage. Step back in time with a visit to the Jewry Wall Museum or take a trip to Leicestershire's oldest town, Castle Park where you can see the Great Hall of Leicester Castle and the medieval Guildhall.

Leicestershire is a great place to go for those who enjoy theatre and drama. Head to the Curve Theatre and experience an exciting performance in a state of the art theatre. There's also De Montfort Hall where you can listen to live music and enjoy comedy and dance. Those who are keen cyclists and horse riders are able to enjoy all of the above with many accessible bridleways and cycleways across Leicestershire.

Fans of motorsport have plenty of opportunities in Leicestershire to watch races and take part in driving experiences.

Football: Visitors to Leicester can visit Leicester City Football Club and take a tour around their stadium. Or why not get really involved in the atmosphere and watch a match!

Speedway: Leicester Lions has a new home in Leicester at Beaumont Leys.

Rugby: Leicester's world famous Tigers rugby club are two-times Guinness Premiership winners in 2009 and 2010, and the first club to retain the European Heineken Cup. Visit their stadium on Welford Road and experience the excitement of match day.
