Packhorse Inn reopens to public following refurbishment

The Packhorse Inn at Moulton, near Newmarket, reopened on Friday 5 April following a two-month refurbishment and extension project, inviting guests to view the space as part of a reopening party on Friday evening.

The project has seen exciting new additions to the pub, with a new flint and timber barn extension providing an extended dining area and views over the village green. There is also now a larger kitchen space with a window between the kitchen and the private dining space, as well as between the kitchen and garden, so that guests can watch the chefs as they work.

Refurbishment throughout the existing space has brought a fresh look and feel throughout the establishment, with a dedicated bar area separating space for casual drinks from the dining area.

Although the main pub is now finished, the redevelopments continue with work taking place to build a barn at the rear of the property which will house an additional 8 bedrooms, bringing the total number of rooms at the pub to 16 – all of which are dog-friendly.

The premises, formerly known as The Kings Head, launched as The Packhorse in October 2013 and was the first pub in The Chestnut Group collection. The collection now has 16 pubs across East Anglia, 15 of which are pubs with rooms.

The Packhorse Inn is an award-winning pub, sitting at the heart of the local community, just three miles East of Newmarket. Its delicious menu is inspired by season and soil, served from breakfast through to dinner by the pub’s welcoming team who are always on hand to recommend the perfect pairing of menu and cellar offerings.
