Cycling In Brighton

Brighton and its surrounding areas are an ideal spot for cycling. The city is now part of the National Cycle Network. Brighton’s coastal routes take you towards the marina and the striking cliff paths of Saltdean and Peacehaven and beyond.

Try the Coastal Cycle Route which runs from Shoreham to Rottingdean for a fairly flat, easy, 9 mile cycle, or the Seafront to the Downs route for a combination of both coast and countryside.

Just outside the city, the bridleways and byways on the South Downs are very popular with cyclists of all abilities & there are many trails available. The 160km South Downs Way is also the only UK National Trail fully accessible to riders.

Other National Cycle Routes include the Brighton to Camber route, which includes quiet beaches and natural beauty. The route itself is 10 miles long but can easily be broken up into shorter routes.
