Here are some of our favourite courses in the UK:
St Andrew’s, Fife, Scotland
Playing at St Andrew’s golf course, with the Royal and Ancient club house and the Auld Grey Toon as the backdrop, is a very magical feeling. The golf club has a great history and is home to the most famous golf hole in the world, the 17th or Road Hole, which is the only hole in golf to have an entire book devoted to it.
Royal County Down, Newcastle, Northern Ireland
Royal County Down is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the UK. The course is beautiful, combining sublime scenery with a fantastic layout and a great variety of holes that will give even the most ardent golf player a headache or two.
Sunningdale Old, Berkshire, England
The old course at Sunningdale is one of the UK’s most aesthetically pleasing inland courses, lined with pine, birch, and oak trees; it is a truly magnificent place to play golf. A very special ambience permeates this traditional heathland course. Perhaps it’s because the heather, gorse, and bracken are beautiful rather than intimidating, reminding everyone that the game of golf is meant to be a fun day out.
Below shows you pubs and inns situated near golf courses all over the UK, you're spoilt for choice.
