Threave Garden and EstateCastle Douglas Category Museums & Galleries, Historic Sites
Threave Garden is in fact a series of spectacular gardens created over the years by students of the Trust's School of Heritage Gardening.
Open all year, you can enjoy the delights of these gardens in every season - from spring flowers, through summer blooms, autumn colours and winter frosts.
Take time to explore the rock garden, patio garden, secret garden, water features, heathers, conifers and herbaceous perennials.
The walled garden and glasshouses display succulent fruit and vegetables - sometimes our produce is available for visitors to buy, but mostly it is used in the Terrace Cafe to create delicious home cooked meals, soups, snacks and baking.
In the fine Scottish Baronial style house, many rooms are displayed as they were in the 1930s. On a guided tour you can find out about the history of the house and the Gordon family who had it built in 1872.
