The Cotswold Water Park is an area of 40 square miles, with more than 150 lakes, set across the countryside of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire. The range of activities on offer in this one area is quite amazing, with something for everyone – the young, the not so young, and everyone in between.

How about heading off on your bike to explore the secluded lakeside paths? Or try your hand at a new sport such as cable skiing, sailing or rowing? In the cooler months, this is a great place to go wildlife watching, with otters, water voles, and thousands of wintering water birds.

The Cotswold Water Park is a large area, with lots of lakes and lots of different activities.

Here are some tips to help make your visit to the area more enjoyable:

•Decide what it is you would like to do, ie Kayaking, Rowing, Beach, or just sitting by a lake with a picnic.
•Look up the activities on the Things to Do section, and choose one of the leisure providers – there are quite a few!
•Go to their own website to check opening times and prices, and as it’s going to be busy around here, see if you need to book ahead. ( For example, for some of the watersports, like waterskiing, to avoid disappointment, it is a good idea to do your research before you come)
•If you are new to the area, call into the Gateway Centre and pick up a Leisure Map. This will tell you where you can do the various activities and how to get there.
