Details

The Ship Inn is tucked away in an idyllic location just a stone's throw from one of Ceredigion's finest beaches, Tresaith Bay, with golden sands and a cliff-side waterfall.

The picturesque coastal village of Tresaith is situated 8 miles from Cardigan along the Ceredigion coast line in West Wales. The village features a dramatic cliff top waterfall where the river Saith cascades down onto the golden sandy beach below. The translation of the Welsh name ‘Tresaith’ is ‘town of seven’, which is believed to originate from the tale of seven Irish sisters. According to local legend, there was once an Irish King who, in despair of his seven troublesome daughters, cast them adrift on an open boat out onto the Irish Sea. The boat was said to beach at Tresaith, where the seven princesses fell in love and married seven sons of local Welsh families, hence the name the town of seven.

The inn are famous for their delicious seafood specials which are not to be missed. With market-fresh fish delivered every day they’ll knock up the perfect salmon sandwich as a quick break from the beach, or seabream for a sunset dinner. Enjoy one of their specially selected wines, award winning cask ales or hand crafted cocktails to make your visit complete. Simply relax on the sun terrace to take in the sights and sounds of the idyllic surroundings. Or in the winter months put your feet up by their cosy log fire and enjoy your favourite winter tipple.

The 4 en-suite, sea-view rooms are ideal to relax after a hard day’s sunbathing on Tresaith’s blue-flag beach. Whether you take in the breathtaking sunsets across the bay or do a spot of dolphin watching from your balcony, there’s no better way to unwind than to the sound of clear waters lapping at the shore. The next morning, get your walking shoes on ready to explore the famous Ceredigion coastal walks. But not before your full Welsh breakfast is cooked to order for you to enjoy in the conservatory.
