The Fortescue Inn is a fabulous pub nestled away from the prevailing wind on the high street. Expect roaring log fires in winter, delicious seasonal food and stylish bedrooms.
This pub is Grade II listed and dates back to the early 19th Century. Food is served all day, with their delicious wood fired pizzas from 4pm. Seafood is a speciality so expect to see fish and chips, chowder, crab and lobster on their seasonal menus. Their wine list is eclectic and has been put together by Regency Wines in Exeter and the gin list is long and varied - sit in their pretty beer garden and sip on a Salcombe Gin and tonic. Heaven!
Breakfast is included in your stay and includes a choice of full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast, pastries, cereal and yoghurt.
Their stylish bedrooms have whitewashed walls which give a sense of space, drawing focus to exposed wooden beams. Each of their 6 bedrooms come with a whole host of luxuries including kingsize handmade Vispring beds, soundproof double glazed and shuttered windows, luxurious en-suite bathrooms, flat screen TV's, complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, WiFi access, an ironing board, iron and laptop safe. This fantastic pub is the hub of the town where the locals gather at the bar, and old photos of Salcombe’s lifeboat crew and fishermen hang on the walls. Situated in the centre of town, by the lifeboat station, beautiful beaches and ferries across the estuary are within easy walking distance away.
