The Blue Ball Inn is situated in Sidford only a few miles from the beautiful Devon coastal town of Sidmouth which has a golden sands beach and plenty of boutique shops.
The pub easy to find on the main coast road at Sidford. The thatched roof, rough cast walls, stone floors and wood beams look as if they have been there for centuries. You would not know that the whole pub was rebuilt a few years ago after a disastrous fire. The layout, with several rooms around a central bar area, provides a variety of comfortable and spacious seating areas. The food is popular with locals and visitors. It is home-cooked and reasonably priced, including a range of pub classics, with a selection of speciality dishes, particularly locally caught fish. There is a sizeable enclosed garden to sit in, when the weather is suitable.
The inn provides 9 delightful en-suite bedrooms all recently refurbished. The rooms all come with crisp white linen, fluffy towels, power showers and endless amounts of steaming hot water to help relax and de-stress after a busy day. Tea and coffee making facilities are in every room. All of the rooms are on the first floor except for Packhorse which is on the ground floor with a twin or double bed and a wet room for easy access.
Between 8 and 10am every day, they serve one of the finest breakfasts in the area. They are dedicated to producing a broad range of home cooked food – from good old ‘pub’ favourites to superb quality, imaginative cuisine. The food uses only the best produce, locally sourced wherever possible.
