The Red Lion is located in the historic market town of Wareham. They provide 12 guest bedrooms, delicious hearty pub food and a range of real ales.

Want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life? Then the pretty, riverside town of Wareham is just the place you’re looking for. Explore the town’s 2000 years of history, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the eateries, browse the interesting and unique shops or go for a walk and surround yourself with rolling hills and beautiful views.

The pub has an ever changing selection of real ales, usually at least 3 choices, kept to perfection by the owners. They currently stock 4 choices of draught lager: Amstel, Stella Artois, Becks Vier and Staropramen. The cider is Blackthorn Dry and Belhaven Black Scottish Stout completes their draught choices. The wines have been carefully selected to cater for a wide range of tastes and budgets. They are proud of their fast growing “gin palace” reputation! They currently stock a range of around 185 gins from around the world, along with a broad range of Fever Tree tonics and mixers to compliment them.

Their traditional English breakfast consists of local butcher’s sausage and bacon, portabello mushroom, grilled tomato, toast and either poached, scrambled or fried eggs. If you would rather have something lighter there are many more choices such as eggs benedict, porridge, eggs royale and vegetarian eggs benedict.

They focus on serving hearty, quality, traditional classics. The home made seasonal specials centre on comfort dishes everyone loves. Weekly changing pies, winter warmers, fish cakes, hot sponge puddings and cheesecakes. Current favourites include home made beef burgers, chicken breast burgers, chargrilled vegetable and halloumi stack burgers, a vegan stack, braised gammon hock with a maple syrup and wholegrain mustard glaze, home made chicken kiev and salmon en papillote.

They have 12 en-suite guest rooms, all of which have their own designs, characters and combination of beds. There are double rooms, twin rooms and family rooms all off of a central private foyer. They use crisp Egyptian cotton bedding and high quality towels. Should you have a preference for synthetic or feather pillows, please let them know. All rooms have flat screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities with Dorset tea and their own filtered still and sparkling water, a full range of toiletries and a powerful hairdryer.
