A former 17th century coaching inn, on the banks of the River Monnow in the beautiful county of Monmouthshire, The Bell at Skenfrith is one of Wales’s renowned boutique hotels. Oak beams, polished flagstone floors, open fires, classic and contemporary furniture coupled with comfy sofas and chairs creates a relaxed, easy atmosphere.
The restaurant has won many awards for its food. Recently, they were very proud to have won the ‘Best Place to Eat – Pub’ in the Wales National Tourism Awards, as voted by the public. The produce is seasonal and locally sourced with some from their own kitchen garden. Special dietary requirements can usually be met but they ask that you let them know of these in advance. In good weather, guests may eat on the garden terrace or order a picnic basket and rug and sit up in the orchard which has amazing views over the Monnow river below.
They have 11, individually designed bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, flat screen TVs with Freeview, a telephone, WiFi connection, crisp cotton sheets, duvets, warm Welsh blankets, fluffy towels and aromatic Noble Isle toiletries abound in the bedrooms. Freshly ground coffee, fresh milk and traditional or herbal teas and crunchy, home-made shortbread biscuits are provided in every room for your enjoyment.
