The Buck Inn is a welcoming country pub overlooking the green in the beautiful village of Thornton Watlass which is at the entrance of Wensleydale, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

This Inn is located just a short distance from the A1 making it a great place for a stop over if you are in the area. They are located amongst a fantastic array of charming market towns and picturesque villages including Middleham, Masham and Harrogate. It is the ideal base from which to explore this fantastic part of the country whether you are keen walkers, cyclists, sightseers or if you are simply looking to relax and unwind.  They welcome families and dogs, and also offer fishing and golfing breaks.

Their restaurant and bar are the perfect places for socialising and they offer a choice of locally brewed real ales, together with delicious home-cooked and locally sourced menus. Food is served between 12-2pm Monday to Saturday and 12-3pm on Sundays, and 6-9pm Monday to Saturday and 6-8.30pm on Sundays. The bar is open all day from 12.00pm.

The Buck has 5 modern en-suite bedrooms - details can be found in the "rooms" tab. Your stay includes a fabulous breakfast and dogs are most welcome and are charged at £10 per night.  All bedrooms benefit from an attractive outlook over the pub garden or village green.

This fantastic pub has just completed a total refurbishment which has included all bedrooms and bathrooms, the exterior, beer garden and the bar. They also have a brand new kitchen. The Long Room, a function room and dining area, overlooking the village green, where cricket is played during the Summer, and where cows can be seen grazing the outfield has also received a complete makeover. The most recent project has been the creation of a ‘snug’ area in the bar, complete with wood burning stove and comfy seating.
