The Anglers Arms is a traditional Northumbrian coaching inn nestled on the banks of the River Coquet in the tranquil hamlet of Weldon Bridge, near Morpeth, Northumberland.
Dating back to the 18th century, the original coaching inn once provided refreshment and a place to rest for coaches heading to and from Scotland. The Anglers Arms has been a welcome sight for travellers for almost 300 years. Conveniently situated in the picturesque hamlet of Weldon Bridge which although only a convenient distance from the A697 road to Coldstream, is a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Anglers Arms is approximately 9 miles north of the bustling market town of Morpeth and 13 miles south of the historic town of Alnwick making it the ideal base from which to explore this wonderful county.
The decor of the pub reflects a bygone age, with an eclectic and diverse range of nick-nacks and curios from many ages. It is a place that has a real heart, a real character of a place with it’s own spirit.
The Anglers Arms has gained an enviable reputation for providing fantastic food for every occasion whether it's a quick sandwich at the bar, a relaxing pub lunch with some friends or a romantic meal for a special occasion. All of their meals are cooked fresh to order using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible - some of them supplied by the farms literally on their very doorstep.
The inn offers a range of accommodation including double and twin rooms and a self contained flat. These rooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard with a range of facilities including en-suite bathrooms, a TV, telephone, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and alarm clock. All of the accommodation is offered on a bed and breakfast basis with the rates including a delicious home-cooked Northumbrian breakfast as well as a choice of cereals, toast, fruit, coffee and teas.
