Details

Situated in the heart of Sherwood Forest, home of the legendary Robin Hood, The Forest Lodge Hotel is an 18th century coaching inn owned and run by the Thompson family.

The Forest Lodge sits just five minutes’ walk from the famous Sherwood Forest, legendary stalking ground of the semi-mythical folk hero Robin Hood, first made popular in medieval ballads. Thanks to this connection with Robin, Sherwood has become one of the most visited woods in the United Kingdom.

As essential parts of the hotel, the Forest Lodge boasts two intimate, beamed public bar areas with open fires. At any one time they have a selection of four different cask ales on offer in addition to Charles Wells’ ‘Bombardier Bitter’ which is permanently available. They have been independently accredited by ‘Cask Marque’ and appear in The Good Beer Guide. They are regularly in touch with traditional breweries, both local and national, and are constantly striving to introduce new beers for customers to try.

They’re proud to have earned a reputation as one of the finest restaurants near Sherwood Forest. Enjoy the local produce, cooked to perfection by the talented kitchen team. Whether you’re looking for a light bite to eat for lunch, or an indulgent meal for dinner, the restaurant fits the bill perfectly. They source as many of the ingredients locally as they possibly can, meaning you get high quality, fresh food.

The pub has earned a reputation for providing comfortable rooms, a nice environment and superior service for their guests. They pride themselves on helping you get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to relax at our hotel, set amongst the scenic Sherwood Forest. You’ll find their staff to be friendly and courteous at all times, their priority is making your stay an enjoyable one.
