Welcome to our family run Visit Wales 3 star Inn, a mile from the 'book capital of the world' Hay-on-Wye.
We are one amongst only 5 hotels, Inns or pubs with rooms in the immediate area, so If you are looking for an old country Inn to eat, sleep and drink, then look no further. We are lucky to be amongst some of the best unspoilt countryside in the UK; close to the Black Mountains, the Brecon Beacons and Offa's Dyke path and within a short walking distance of the River Wye.
The Baskerville Arms was once more famously known as "The Swan" in the diaries of Reverend Francis Kilvert from the late 1800s. Nestled in the village of Clyro we are just a mile or so from the bustling town of Hay-on-Wye, known as the "Book capital of the World". But here in Clyro, the only thing that may disturb you are the sheep and the occasional cockerel!
Spend your day in a canoe, cycling, pony riding or sight-seeing at the numerous attractions around Hay on Wye or walking the many ramblers routes. Then come back to your comfortable en-suite accommodation in our quiet village where you can relax and enjoy dishes prepared by our chefs from fresh local produce, whilst maybe partaking in a real ale or two in the homely 'locals bar' atmosphere.
We are the ideal venue to hold your family or works party at whether it be Christmas or any other time! With a reputation for good food and friendly staff you can be confident that you and your family or work friends will have a great lunchtime session or dinner night with us.
