The Red Lion, Babcary is a beautiful thatched country pub in the heart of an unspoilt Somerset village. The pub offers six en-suite rooms, a flagstoned bar and award winning restaurant.
This award winning pub/restaurant is open every day of the year, oozing charm with its traditional flagstoned floors, open fires and pretty garden. The team are handpicked for their personality, professionalism and ability to provide first class customer service.
The menu changes regularly and they select the dishes carefully to combine local, fresh ingredients with a varied choice. They are very proud of their recently awarded 2016 Gold Medal from Taste of the West. You can select from the restaurant starters and mains to pub classics, sandwiches and delicious desserts.
They also have a selection of guest ales to complement the popular house beers from Teignworthy and Otter breweries, along with a farm produced, award winning ciders. The wine list is carefully chosen with the suppliers to provide a good mix of house and listed wines.
There are several options for larger parties – Chef’s table for up to 10 seated; The Den - a private room with modern vintage décor seats up to 20 and The Marquee - an ideal venue for wedding receptions and large parties up to 120 people.
Upstairs they have six, boutique en-suite guest bedrooms. All rooms are beautifully decorated, with comfy beds, and luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen, a recipe for a good night’s sleep. They have two twins, two doubles and two superior rooms with sofa beds, ideal for people with children. One ground floor room has facilities for the partially disabled, with wheelchair access.
