The White Hart is located in the beautiful old small market town of Somerton. It offers a spacious bar, an outstanding kitchen and dining area together with 8 lovely en-suite rooms.
This pub has been trading in Somerton’s attractive market square since the 16th Century. Over the years it has been through 2 name changes, an 18th century facelift and most recently, a total renovation in 2013.
Tom Blake (formerly head chef at River Cottage) leads their kitchen team alongside head chef, Jack Stoodley. Their menu is fresh, simple, local and special. Working with some exceptional local suppliers, the team’s aim is to demonstrate just how good West Country food can be.
The kitchen team are in all day and produce snacks as well as 3 course meals. You can eat anywhere you like and there is a wide selection of hot food available throughout the day. Children are also very welcome and they do a small menu for them or can offer cut down versions off the main menu.On sunny days there is also a courtyard and garden for al fresco eating and drinking. (Menus can be viewed in the pdf's at the bottom of this page).
Each of their 8 en-suite rooms is unique and designed to provide a cosy haven. The 3 rooms at the front overlook Market Place and the beautiful 13th Century Church of St Michael and All Angels. They also have 2 smaller rooms in the centre of the building which, whilst not enjoying the same views, are furnished to the same high standard as the other rooms. The 3 rooms at the rear overlook either the courtyard or garden.
Each room has a generous king or super king size bed, crisp Egyptian linen and eclectic furniture. Some rooms can be used as twins and they can also squeeze in children in an extra z bed or cot. All rooms have smart TVs and free WiFi. They also have fresh coffee and tea, deep pile towels and hand made Bramley luxury natural bath and body products. Their rates include a fabulous breakfast. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, garden and to stay in the bedrooms at a charge of £10 per dog per stay.
If you want to spend a day relaxing, enjoying lovely food, beautiful scenery and old town charm, Somerton is the place to visit.
