Visit East Riding of Yorkshire

Tourists visit East Yorkshire, a picturesque county based in Northern England known for its rolling hills and medieval market towns.

Hull is the most well known city in East Yorkshire, and was previously crowned the UK City of Culture in 2017. The port city is a bustling hub of museums, shops, bars and restaurants. Families hoping to get away for a city break to Hull will want to visit the maritime city, Into The Deep – an award winning aquarium to over 5000 animals. Visitors can meander through the viewing tunnel and take a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank.

The Yorkshire Wolds is a perfect place to explore for those hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.  The Wolds are low hills in both East and North Yorkshire and stretch across 79 miles of woodland, forest and moorland. There are some fabulous walking trails in the Yorkshire Wolds which pass through vibrant market towns and ancient villages, valleys and rolling hills. For a full list of various walks, visit here.

Alternatively, for those who prefer to be by the seaside, a visit to Bridlington is a lovely day on a hot summer’s day. The seaside town has sandy beaches, an award winning promenade and a historic harbour.  Whether you are looking to wander through the Old Town, visit the funfair or ride on a donkey along the beach, Bridlington is a wonderful day out for the whole family.
